Service skills

Many organisations get most things right, but let themselves down by providing a poor service - and bad news can travel fast. This course helps to improve efficiency and cooperation by revealing better methods of service and communication.

Better, faster and with feeling!

SV1 The lost art of communication

  • Is it an art, or a science?
  • How important is having a system?
  • How can we avoid misunderstandings?
  • Can we take any communication at face value?
  • How do we read between the lines?
  • How can we reason with an unreasonable person?
  • How can we turn a disaster into a success?

SV2 The lost art of co-operation

  • Why can ‘no man be an island’?
  • Is there more to it than mutual back scratching?
  • What is ‘good will’ and how can we build it?
  • What should we do when we need a favour?
  • Should we have to go beyond the call of duty?
  • What can we do if someone takes liberties?
  • What can we learn from other people?

SV3 How to be more efficient without really trying

  • Are some people just born more efficient?
  • What does it say about us if we’re not?
  • Is it just about being organised?
  • How important is my attitude?
  • What part does indecision play?
  • How important is a routine?
  • What if the system’s at fault?

We run interactive and fun training sessions to cover the multitude of skills needed for staff to be effective in a busy working environment:  Each ‘pack’ contains three modules, but you can swap these to suit your needs.
For complete flexibility, either choose a complete pack, or design your own half-day sessions.
