Organisational skills

There's no need to work in a mess, or be forever playing catch-up. This course will get you organised and back on schedule by improving your self-discipline and time management skills.

Getting rid of unproductive fuss!

SO1 Calm down and get organised

  • Is getting worked up just showing that we care?
  • Could it mean we are out of our depth?
  • Is a show of emotion always considered ‘unprofessional’?
  • When is the best time to let off steam?
  • Can we remain focused and productive when upset?
  • How does a tantrum affect those around us?
  • Can we control our anger and still make the same impact?

SO2 Know your strengths and weaknesses

  • Aren’t some people just better organised?
  • What of the claim ‘It may look a mess but I know where everything is’?
  • Is it caused by a lack of discipline?
  • What can we learn from organised people?
  • Is there any point asking for help?
  • Even if you adopt a system, can you keep it up?
  • If it’s a poor system, can we improve it?

SO3 Time management - is it a waste of time?

  • What do ‘time and motion’ studies prove, if anything?
  • Is time simply unmanageable?
  • How important is prioritising?
  • What are the main causes of time waste?
  • How can we reduce interruptions?
  • What simple techniques could we employ?
  • What if other people are holding us up?

We run interactive and fun training sessions to cover the multitude of skills needed for staff to be effective in a busy working environment:  Each ‘pack’ contains three modules, but you can swap these to suit your needs.
For complete flexibility, either choose a complete pack, or design your own half-day sessions.
